The name of this medieval city is in itself fascinating. Nestled at the base of the Appennine Mountains in the region of Umbria, the estate, Arnaldo Caprai sits fortress-like upon one of the soft, lower hills.
Arnaldo Caprai founded the estate in 1970 and passed on the responsibilities to his son Marco in the early '80s. Today the estate holds over 100 hectare, encircling the cellar, planted with Sangiovese and Sagrantino.
The latter variety boasting of a density and a viscosity that make most red wines pale.
Marco and his wines have a number of attributes in common, strength, perseverance and a great future.
